The Cafesjian Art Trust is a new public institution featuring the private art collection of Gerard Cafesjian. His 3000+ pieces of art include Contemporary and Modern paintings and sculpture, as well as one of the most impressive collections of art glass sculpture in the world.
The CAT is located at 4600 Churchill Street, Shoreview, MN — North of 694, near the intersection of Lexington and County Rd. G (Highway 96).
The CAT is available to tour by appointment only during three public tours at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m., Thursday through Saturday. Schedule your visit here or call (612) 359-8991.
We do not allow unaccompanied visitors to walk through the museum. All visitors will be in scheduled tour groups.Â
We would love to host your group. All visits to the CAT are currently by appointment only. We can accommodate groups as large as 20 visitors at one time. You can make a group reservation here or by calling (612) 359-8991.
We do not rent out the museum to outside parties. We plan to host many special ticketed events including Cocktails with the Collection, lectures, classes, and more. Visit our website for more information.
We do not have food at the CAT. But there are a variety of places to eat or grab a coffee in the vicinity, including Fresh Picked Pizza, Shore 96 and Churchill St.
In addition to ADA-compliant entrances, common areas and restrooms, the CAT has a sensory-friendly quiet room available as well as baby changing stations and a private room for nursing or pumping mothers available upon request. Learn more about accessibility at the CAT.
You do not need a physical ticket, but you do need to make a reservation in order to visit the museum. You can make a reservation here or by calling 612.359.8991. You will receive an email confirmation and your reservation will be booked on our calendar.

Our guided tours take visitors through the current exhibition in the Main Gallery. We have four permanent installations, as well as exhibitions in the main gallery which will rotate on a regular basis, providing many opportunities to revisit the Cafesjian Art Trust. Tours at the CAT Museum last about one hour.
We have a coat rack that you may use during your visit, located just in front of our reception desk. The CAT cannot be responsible for the loss or theft of items left at the coat rack.
Yes, we have a parking lot next to the entrance on the south side of the museum.
Yes. We welcome researchers, students, artists and curators interested in learning more about the artists in our collection. The library can be booked for four-hour increments on our website or by calling (612) 359-8991.
No, the library in not included in the tour unless we are featuring a special exhibit. But there will be works on display in the library that can be viewed from outside the space.
No, all books must remain on-premises, including books inside the library and any special collections books you may want to view.
The library contains volumes on the artists in the museum collection, as well as rare books, and books embellished by artists that can be requested for viewing purposes related to research. Please call (612) 359-8991 for more information.
